Agency History |
Since the formation of the agency in 1928, Wm. A. Smith & Son's focus has
been centered around a group of experienced individuals who share a
common idea on how insurance programs should be both responsive and
understandable to a broad range of clients-- from individual insurer to
businesses and institutions.
In 1957, John H. Smith, Sr. joined the firm at which time the business was incorporated. John is a graduate of The University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School and holds the following professional designations: CPCU, ARM, ChFC, CLU, AAI, and is currently President.
In 1985, Cathy Smith McCarty joined the firm making it a third generation organization. Cathy is a graduate of Colgate University and received her Masters Degree in Insurance from the University of Hartford. As Executive Vice-President of the firm she holds the CIC and CPCU professional designations.
In 2003, John H. Smith, Jr. (Jack), joined the firm continuing the tradition of a third generation organization. Jack is a graduate of Wake Forest University. As Executive Vice-President of the firm, he holds the CPCU and ARM professional designations.
In 2005, Debra Lynn Johnson, joined the firm enjoying the tradition of a third generation organization. Debra is a graduate of Springfield College and is an Executive Vice-President of the firm.
